This competition is organized by Digital Music Solutions (hereby “the Promoter”), 118/130 avenue Jean Jaurès 75019 Paris (France), registered in Paris Trade & Companies Register (RCS) under N°801 364 308. This competition is part of the 2020 edition of the vOilah! Festival presented by the French Embassy in Singapore from October 22nd until November 22nd 2020.

In addition to the NomadPlay Legal Notice including User Terms and Privacy Notice available at, you hereby accept and agree that the following rules apply without limitation to the Competition. In addition, any instructions on how to enter this Competition form part of these terms and conditions.

ARTICLE 2: Introduction

This Competition is without any obligation to make a purchase for entry. No refund can be requested to cover participating fees.

This competition is free and open to any musician, provided they come from one the territories covered (Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia).
People employed by Digital Music Solutions or one of the partnering organizations for the Competition (namely the French Embassy in Singapore and Swee Lee) cannot participate.

The Competition is split into two (2) Categories: “Revelation” and “Young Talent”.

Participants competing in the “Young Talent” Category must be under 18 years old (included) when taking part in the Competition. Participations from musicians of 19 years-old and above will not be considered for this Category.

There’s no age limit set for Participants in the “Revelation” Category.

The period for entry in the competition commences on October 23rd 2020 and runs to November 15th 2020, which is the closing date for the Competition.

ARTICLE 3: Terms for registration

Only one (1) entry in the Competition per participant will be accepted.
Participants can only compete in one (1) of the Categories.

To take part in the Competition, participant must abide by the following requisites:

To be taken into account, the video must be viewable FREELY otherwise the Jury would not be able to watch the video.

ARTICLE 4: Competition Programme

For the “Revelation” Category, participants (with the exception of piano playing participants) must play the following title:
César Franck: Symphony in D minor, 1st movement*
Recorded with Kahchun Wong and the Orchestre national d’Île-de-France
Pianists competing in the “Revelation” Category must play:
Maurice Ravel: Violin Sonata No.2, II. Blues*
Recorded with Raphaëlle Moreau and Célia Oneto Bensaid
*Participants need to perform an extract a minimum of 5 minutes from the beginning of the movement. Participants can also choose to perform the full movement.

For the “Young Talent” Category, participants can choose to perform any title from the NomadPlay catalogue.

If their instrument is not available for the piece they are competing on, participants can choose to perform the part of another instrument than the one they are performing with, however, they must use the NomadPlay app.

ARTICLE 5: Validity of entries

In the event an entry does not abide by all the former requisites, the entry will be considered incomplete and therefore invalid. Invalid participations will not be accepted as valid entries to the competition. Furthermore, the jury reserves the right to select an alternative winner in the event that the jury has reasonable grounds for believing that a participant has contravened any of these Terms and Conditions.

ARTICLE 6: Winner Selection

Winners will be selected by the Jury between November 16th and November 21st 2020, after complete review of all the videos sent.

Winners will be notified by email on November 21st 2020, and will be asked to share the news, if they want to, on their own social media.

Winners’ names will be announced publicly on November 22nd 2020 during the closing event of the vOilah! Festival, and on NomadPlay’s social media accounts (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook).

If a Winner does not respond to the notification email within 14 days, a notification will be sent confirming that they are no longer eligible to claim the Prize and another Winner will be chosen instead.
If the Winner of the 1st Prize is no longer eligible, the Prize will go to the Winner of the 2nd Prize and a new Winner will be chosen for the 2nd Prize

ARTICLE 7: The Jury

The Jury is made of conductor Kahchun Wong, and by a representative of each of the partnering organizations, namely NomadPlay, the Embassy of France in Singapore, Swee Lee and the Orchestre national d’Île-de-France.

The Prizes are as stated and are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged. No cash or credit alternatives will be offered. If due to circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control the Promoter is unable to provide the stated Prize(s), the Promoter reserves the right to award as substitute a Prize of equal or higher value. All Prizes are subject to the terms and conditions of the supplier of the relevant service included in the Prize.

1The trip is strictly reserved to the Winner of the Revelation Competition. This Prize is not transferable. Its market value is of 8000 SGD incl. VAT maximum. The trip covers transportation, accommodation in Paris for three (3) nights and per diem (€100 per day) for the Winner only.

2For territories where Swee Lee does not deliver such as Hong Kong and Taiwan, the Winner will have the possibility be able to contact the Promoter to get a product chosen from the Swee Lee website, for the same value amount, delivered at home. If the value of the chosen product exceeds the amount of the voucher, the Winner must be cover the exceeding cost. The Promoter will only arrange and pay for the delivery expenses to those territories.

3Subscription available through a single use code giving unlimited access to NomadPlay’s full platform for one (1) year. The Winner can choose to transfer this code to another person of his/her choice. If the code is transferred to another person, the Winner will not be able to ask for a new code.

ARTICLE 9: Travel conditions

The Winner must be of age to be able to travel alone. In the event that the Winner is underage, he/she must be accompanied by an adult guest approved by the Winner’s legal or testamentary guardian. All travel expenses for his/her accompanying guest must be covered fully by the accompanying guest.

Winner [and accompanying guest] must have valid travel documentation such as passport (minimum validity six months from outbound travel date) or visa as applicable and comply with any customs, immigration or other regulatory requirements for full and unlimited attendance. Winner [and friend] must also have valid and appropriate travel insurance where not covered by the Prize. Any costs for obtaining required travel documentation or insurance shall be borne by Winner [and guest] and will not be reimbursed by Promoter.

ARTICLE 10: Cost of participation

All Participants are responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by them as a result of participation in the Competition (including without limitation costs for sending a sms, mms or accessing the Internet). Costs to enter the Competition via the Internet may vary so please check with your local service provider for current charges.

ARTICLE 11: Tax, Duty or other Levy related to Participation

Unless mandatory local law states otherwise Participant is responsible for any costs, taxes, duties or levies incurred as a result of participating in or winning the Competition. In addition, Participant hereby agrees and accepts that by winning the Competition Participant may incur taxes, duties or other levies including but not limited to any prize tax etc under any applicable laws and regulations. Participant hereby unconditionally accepts to bear any such tax, duty or other levy on behalf of Participant or an accompanying guest.

ARTICLE 12: Rights

The Participants hereby grants Promoter any and all rights necessary for distribution and public display of any submitted text, image, video or other intellectual property rights that may arise from participation in this Competition, the Prizes or related publicity, and the irrevocable, unrestricted right to use, publish, display and distribute materials bearing my name, voice, likeness or any other identifiable representation of me (“Likeness”). The Participant hereby grants Promoter the perpetual right to exclusively, royalty-free and without limitation freely use, modify, edit, copy, reproduce, distribute, translate, create derivative works from, alter and publicly display or publish any such intellectual property rights, for whatever purpose, in any form or medium, whether promotional or in other activities or events arranged by Promoter, whether locally or world-wide.

ARTICLE 13: Responsibilities

No responsibility will be accepted for Entries lost, delayed, misdirected, damaged, or undelivered, whether due to technical difficulties affecting electronic communication or else.

ARTICLE 14: Liability

The Promoter will under no circumstance whatsoever irrespective of the cause therefore, be liable for any loss, damage or injury to the Winner and/or accompanying guest, nor to property, or else caused or suffered in connection with this Competition or any Prize(s) awarded in connection herewith.

ARTICLE 15: Change of Dates

Dates of the Event may be subject to change due to rescheduling of the event beyond Promoter’s reasonable control.

Promoter reserves the right at any time and from time to time without any liability whatsoever, to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently this Competition, with or without prior notice to Participants.

ARTICLE 17: Disclaimer of Warranty and Limitation of Liability

A. In no event will the Promoter or any person or entity involved in arranging, hosting, creating, producing or distributing the competition be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising out of the use of the participation in the Competition or else.

B. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Promoter’s liability or of any person or entity involved in the competition as stated in A. above shall for any reason whatsoever be limited to maximum €100.
